Data Education for All
The talk by Professor Judy Robertson will focus on her work regarding data education in primary and secondary schools. Recently, her projects have focused on utilising data in educational settings, whether it be in the aforementioned primary schools, further education settings, or even in-work learning for adults. She argues that a greater access to data makes learning a much more engaging experience for everyone, where availability to information will spark more curiosity and prove as a greater outlet for solutions.

Professor Judy Robertson is Chair in Digital Learning at the Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She has been developing educational technology in collaboration with children and teachers since 1997. She is a Senior Member of the ACM, and a Senior Fellow of the HEA. She is interested in computer science education and serious games for children, particularly game authoring. She is currently working on approaches to teacher education in computational thinking and data science.
